The World Engineering Education Forum, the OCLC EMEARC Annual Meeting and the International Congress on Sound and Vibration will all be taking place in Florence in 2015.

It is estimated that the three events combined could bring around 3,000 participants to the area and approximately 11,000 overnight stays in hotels in the city and its surroundings.

Director of Firenze Convention Bureau (FCB) Carlotta Ferrari said: "The acquisition of these three conferences confirms once again how our city is increasingly recognised as a destination of excellence.

"In addition to the prestige that these conferences bring to Florence, we also need to consider the significant economic impact, creating valuable opportunities for employment and investment."
