Lucy Siegle, who also created the Observer Ethical Awards, specialises in environmental and social justice issues and ethical consumerism.

Etienne Stott will be launching ‘One Planet Sport’ – a brand new series of resources for Sustainable Sports and Events – written by BioRegional and supported by WWF.

The One Planet Sport resources include a ‘Vision for a sustainable future’, a ready-made template for the events industry with ISO 20121 compatible definitions and target goals, all based around One Planet Living – that is, living within and respecting the earth’s resources.

Earlier this month, Hewlett Packard's head of events, Jane Culcheth-Beard was added to the list of speakers at the Sustainable Events Summit, which includes Inder Poonaji, Nestle's head of safety, health and environment, Innocent's head of creative Dan Germain and Cisco's head of sustainability EMEA Neil Harris.

The event takes place on 18 February at 30 Euston Square, London and the central theme of discussion will focus on what event planners are doing to ensure their live events are sustainable.

The Sustainable Events Summit was created through a partnership between agencies Smyle and Positive Impact, with support from a variety of other businesses including Logistik and George P Johnson.
