More than 1,000 staff will attend the Swinton Group's annual sales conference and gala dinner at the ACC Liverpool this weekend.

The conference will feature a pre-recorded 'Gogglebox' film, based on the Channel 4 reality TV show that films a number of people as they watch TV. The Swinton Group has hired actors to impersonate the characters in Gogglebox and filmed them reacting to a presentation that will take place at the conference.

Angela Lyth, head of internal communications at Swinton Insurance, explains: "The Gogglebox feature works really well. It conveys a serious business message in a creative and fun way."

The conference will also include a hologram of the Swinton Group's CEO.

Lyth continued: "This is our fourth time at the ACC Liverpool. Our delegates are based in all four corners of Great Britain and Liverpool provides a great central location for the event. The layout of the ACC Liverpool allows for a variety of settings, enabling us to be creative each year."

Other upcoming events at the ACC Liverpool include the BBC Worldwide Showcase and association events for the British Society for Rheumatology, NHS Confederation, The Royal College of Nursing and Cancer Research UK.

This month, work got under way on the ACC Liverpool's £40m exhibition centre.
