Badley will take up the position of general manager after moving from the five-star St David's Hotel & Spa in Cardiff.

Of his plans for the hotel, Badley said: "With both UK wide and international appeal, to a range of business and leisure markets, my aim is to strengthen our position in the industry and ensure that Dalhousie is the first hotel people think of near Edinburgh."

In 2009, he won the Acorn Award for being in the ‘top 30 under 30’.

Before turning to hotel management Badley was a chef at The Savoy in London and, at the age of 27, was one of the youngest people to be awarded membership of Master Chefs of Great Britain.
