Global Alliance has announced today that it will invest £910.2m ($1.5bn) into the redevelopment of its five, worldwide member venues.
The opening of ACC Liverpool’s new £40m Exhibition Centre Liverpool and the £25m adjoining hotel is part of the company's smbitious redevelopment project.
Also included in the project is the Boston Convention & Exhibition Centre in the US, which will undergo a £610.8m ($1bn) expansion, adding 120,000m2 to the facility as well as a 1,500-room hotel.
Adelaide Convention Centre’s £190m expansion into a new multi-purpose events facility will consist of 4,300m2 of convention floor space, as well as 3,000m2 of event floor space.
Durban ICC, South Africa, has invested just under £600,000 into renovating its kitchens and meeting rooms, which will include drop-down screens and line data projectors.
Julie-May Ellingson, the chair and chief executive officer of Durban ICC, said: "As the architecture of meetings and conferences change; so too, must our venues. In order to stay ahead of the game we need to ensure our venues are fit for purpose and offer state-of-the-art facilities."
