The NEC Birmingham is to host a 'behind the scenes' showcase for live event agencies at the Best of Britain & Ireland show in March 2014.

The aim of the showcase is to bring the UK’s leading event agencies together and to highlight what is on offer at the Birmingham venue.

The Best of Britain & Ireland show, which is taking place at the NEC Birmingham from 12-13 March 2014, will feature destinations, venues and attractions for all types of B2B events in addition to tourism.

Invited attendees will gain exclusive access to the NEC’s sister venue, the LG Arena, and the new £150m Resorts World Birmingham development, which is set to open in spring 2015.

Adrian Evans, the NEC’s account director for conferences and live events, said: "We could not have had a more positive response to this initiative. Many leading live event agencies are already on board and we’re excited about fully demonstrating our unique new offer through our partnership with the Best of Britain & Ireland, in addition to revealing the full scale of our Destination NEC project."

Rick Stainton, managing director of agency Smyle, one of the agencies that has already confirmed its attendance, added: "From what I’ve heard, the new proposition for conferences and live events sounds a compelling one. The NEC team has obviously listened to what the marketplace would like to see, before evolving their offering accordingly and we look forward to finding out more during our visit."
