Destination Guide: Scotland

VisitScotland highlights global sporting events in latest campaign

VisitScotland has launched its Homecoming 2014 campaign to showcase the destination's sporting highlights over the next year.

The campaign, launched at EIBTM on the 19 November, underlines how events such as the Commonwealth Games 2014 and the Ryder Cup 2014, to be held at Gleneagles, highlight Scotland's unrivalled capacity to host major meetings, conventions and events.

"2014 is a big year for Scotland, these events will showcase to the world the many reasons why event organisers choose Scotland; our world class hospitality, our warm welcome, our abundance of stunning venues, range of accommodation, the most beautiful landscapes in the world, and of course our passion for sport, especially golf," commented Neil Brownlee, head of the VisitScotland Business Tourism Unit.
