More than 600 guests from the UK events industry attended the annual awards ceremony, which was presented by actor, comedian and Pointless presenter Alexander Armstrong.

Entertainment was provided by former X-Factor contestants Melanie Masson, Shelley Smith and Kingsland Road.

During the evening, 22 awards were presented from five categories.

DRP Group won the coveted Platinum award for a consistently outstanding performance across all of its entries, while the Agency of the Year award went to Smyle, capping off its tenth anniversary year, which also saw it clean up at the C&IT Awards

The judges awarded DRP Group Gold for its the ENRC 150 Group Conference in the Best Team Building Event category and its work with Chiltern Railways for Low Cost Event Solution of the year, as well as a Silver for the same campaign in the Best Corporate Responsibility category.

Eventia chairman Dale Parmenter said: "Now I understand why no-one would let me see the show running order. However the night is not just about DRP's success. It’s about Eventia showcasing some really fantastic examples of the creativity and customer service that our industry delivers – from a wide range of agencies and suppliers, to innovative technology and venues delivering great customer experiences.

"The evidence of the effectiveness of many of the award winners tonight continues to support that case that events in all their guises really do deliver great results and tangible business benefits for our clients."
