The contract, which was awarded by HIC Yorkshire, encompasses all eights halls - covering some 18,500sqm of exhibition space - as well as the conference centre, which accomodates 2,000 guests.

As part of its proposal, Kudos will be making a "substantial investment" in a supermarket-style food store between Halls B and C, a Cafe in the lobby area of Hall H and several mobile coffee kiosks and Piaggio Apes, which can be set up anywhere within HIC's eight halls.

Other elements of Kudos proposal include three concepts of food stores, coffee kiosks and cafes, as well as new product ranges from six regional suppliers (including four within one mile of the venue) and a product key for all food labelling to assist international visitors.

Simon Kent, director at HIC, said: "We were looking for a radical change in the way the catering was being delivered across the whole event space at HIC and how it was received by the guests.

"The dynamic ideas and innovation that were demonstrated by Kudos have led us to believe that the team can not only evolve, but lead us over the next five years."
