St David's Hotel & Spa: The 142-room, five-star property, on the waterfront in Cardiff Bay, launched a new function room, the Penarth Suite, with views across the Marina, in September. The venue accommodates up to 16 boardroom-style and 35 theatre-style, with private dining available for up to 16 guests.
Food experiences: Welsh food experts Coginio has launched food safaris in South Wales for groups of up to 40, where delegates can experience a three-course dinner at two or three different venues. Cardiff Marriott, meanwhile, has launched a seasonal menu developed in partnership with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage.The specially created menu, which launched in late October, will later be rolled out to cover more of Marriott Hotels’ 50 UK hotels. For fine dining options, the Crown at Whitebrook restaurant opened last month.
Llangoed Hall: In excess of £2m was invested in the refurbishment of Llangoed Hall, which reopened as a luxury country house hotel in March this year. The investment included a complete refurbishment of the property's 23 bedrooms.
