Unispace, the conference and events arm of the University of Sunderland, said the facility is comprised of eighteen multi-purpose meeting rooms for between 20 and 120 delegates, as well as a 97 capacity theatre and over 200sqm of exhibition space across three areas of the building.

The building is currently the University’s arts, design and media space and features an art gallery exhibiting work from up and coming artists.

"We are very happy to be able to strengthen our City-centre offering with the addition of the Priestman Building to our portfolio," said Sharon Olver, commercial services manager at Unispace Sunderland.

"The building has benefitted from a redevelopment, producing the new flexible spaces that feature all the state of the art AV and IT equipment that our clients have come to expect from Unispace."
