Melia announces three new hotels

Melia Hotels International has announced the opening of new ME properties in Majorca, Ibiza and Dubai.

Melia Hotels International has announced the opening of three new properties over the coming two years under its ME brand.

Gabriel Escarrer, chief executive of the hotel group, made the announcement at a party held in the atrium of ME London, in The Strand, on Tuesday night.

Escarrer said the ME brand would open resort hotels in Mallorca and Ibiza next year and in Dubai in 2015. 

ME Mallorca, on the outskirts of Calvia along the beach front, will have 246 rooms and 78 suites, as well as a meeting space for up to 150 people, theatre style.

ME Ibiza, situated on a bay in Santa Eulalia to the north of the island, will have 200 rooms and 21 suites as well as two meeting spaces which can accommodate 80 people in total, also theatre style.

The group has not yet released details of its Dubai hotel.
