The vice chairs - Samme Allen, who represents Meeting Professionals International’s UK chapter on the partnership and is head of sales at the Barbican; Richard Foulkes, who represents the International Special Events Society and his own agency, the Paradise Experiment; Simon Hughes, representing Eventia and his own consultancy MCHA; and Chris Skeith, director the Events Industry Alliance and the Event Supplier and Services Association - will continue to serve alongside chair Michael Hirst.

The partnership also confirmed John Gallery, from the Meeting Industry Association and Great Potential, as chair of its sub-group on research during a recent meeting in Belfast.

He takes over from Tony Rogers, who is coordinating BVEP’s ‘Britain For Events Report’, which is due out at the turn of the year. Rogers will remain a member of the sub-group.

Brian Kirsh, head of regulatory affairs at Eventia and managing director of Event Assured, is to lead a group in developing a manifesto for the events sector ahead of the 2015 general election. Juliet Price, chief executive of the HBAA, is leading on professional development and representing the partnership on the establishment of the Institute of Event Management.

Michael Foreman, representing the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers, is heading up a number of collaborative initiatives including a joint internship programme and a joint industry event, the first of which is likely to be held in Liverpool next summer, during the International Festival for Business.

Michael Hirst, chairman of the BVEP, said: "We're looking to evolve the partnership to focus in areas that add most value to the industry, whilst still remaining an ideas exchange between the key associations and organisations representing UK events."
