The UK government has called for evidence to be submitted ahead of the EU Commission’s proposed changes to the legislation. The deadline for a response to government is 29 November. Concerns surround what defines a package holiday and ensuring that managed business travel is excluded from the EC's revised Package Travel Directive.
Eventia will hold its consultation on 13 November between 2pm and 6pm at the London offices of accountancy firm Saffery Champness. Evidence gleaned from the event will be submitted to the government and could influence the final PTR legislation.
The seminar will comprise two two-hour sessions: the first will be 'Reform of the Package Travel Regulations', led by Eventia regulation committee chairman Brian Kirsch.
The seminar will also update attendees on how changes to TOMS and a European Court of Justice judgement on regulation might affect their businesses. It will be led by David Bennett from Saffery Champness, and HBAA chairman and Absolute Corporate Events managing director Chris Parnham.
