The work makes the space, which is able to accommodate 800 guests in a theatre-style layout or 650 banquet-style, one of the North West’s largest meetings and events facilities.

The 280-bedroom hotel also has 10 additional meetings rooms and free wi-fi throughout.

Interior designer Helen Hooper, of HH Interiors, led the renovation project. Her design includes crystal chandeliers, bespoke lit glass flowers and antique glass arched mirrors.

The hotel will officially unveil the suite in partnership with the charity Muscular Dystrophy tomorrow (17 October) at a fundraising evening, which includes a champagne reception, dinner and entertainment.

David Daly, the hotel’s general manager, said: "We are incredibly pleased with the international suite renovation – the room is contemporary and fresh, the result is exactly what we were looking for. Our events team is looking forward to welcoming guests to the new space."
