Burgess is set to join BCD M&I's EMEA headquarters in Maidenhead on 1 December, and will be responsible for leading the agency's delivery of venue sourcing, project management and registration services.

She will join after almost 20 years at Inntel, where she was operations director, responsible for managing delivery of new accounts and working with key clients including TFL.

BCD M&I managing director Andrew Perolls said: "I am thrilled that Sue is joining us at such an exciting time for BCD M&I. Having someone like Sue, with her incredible breadth and depth of experience, to lead our operations team is fantastic."

A former chair of industry association the HBAA, Burgess has also been recognised in C&IT's Power 50 list.

"It was very clear from early on that Sue has all the skills I'm looking for in this important role and I know we and our clients will benefit from her joining our team," added Perolls. "Her track record of driving both growth and continuous improvement fit perfectly with our agency's corporate and commercial goals."

Burgess explained the move was "too good an opportunity to miss", and added: "I am so looking forward to working in a global agency. I can't wait to get stuck in."
