Emap and Pfizer among guest speakers at Conference Summit

Events experts from firms including Emap and Pfizer are to speak at this year's Conference Summit on 6 December.

Hosted by Global Conference Network, the event will take place at Dexter House in London and will debate some of the key issues facing the conference industry.

The speaker roster includes Fiona Miller, conference director of Emap; Virginia Hayward, European lead of global operations at Pfizer; Jonathan Dewe, head of conferences at The Economist; Giles Cummings, divisional director of i2i Events Group; and Piers Bearne, chairman and co-founder of Global Transport Forum and Global Financial Conferences.

Themes to be examined include "Is the paying delegate in terminal decline?" and "The convergence of large scale events and exhibitions and the implications on the event industry".

Claire Wormsley, Global Conference Network’s managing director, said: "I'm sure this year’s Conference Summit will build on the success of last year’s, with our speakers bringing a vast amount of industry knowledge and insight to the debates, highlighting the constantly changing responsibilities of sales, marketing and content roles."
