Agency HGA was briefed to deliver an interactive conference to convey the digital nature of Shop Direct's business. To give the event a high-tech look and feel, HD widescreen projection was used, while a bespoke wi-fi app was developed that could feed back live delegate information to the client throughout the day.
The event was attended by 800 guests and featured more than 30 videos, a fashion show and celebrity guests, including clothing model and TV presenter Myleene Klass.
The conference's success translated to a sales increase – Christmas sales were up 5% on the previous year, while mobile sales were up 150% on 2011 – with the client crediting the event as a major contributor.
