Twickenham Experience has seen a 40% year-on-year increase in Christmas party bookings, as businesses return to investing in staff entertainment.

Chris Morris, managing director of the joint venture between the Rugby Football Union and the food services provider Compass Group, said the industry suffered during the recession and budgets for Christmas parties were drastically reduced, but that businesses were investing in office entertainment again.

He added: "The increase in bookings has meant that we have had to add on more joiner party dates to the diary in order to accommodate for any later bookings. It’s really fantastic to see that Christmas festivities are back on the agenda and people are starting to plan ahead again this year."

Evolve Events has already reported a 12% rise in bookings for Christmas parties

Twickenham Experience has teamed up with event management and theme design specialist Eventologists to produce silver and black themed party packages.

ts announcement came after event professionals revealed that many businesses remain unaware of tax exemptions for staff Christmas parties.
