The IAB was set up to help reinforce the state’s position as a leading global location for international business events as the harbour city gears up for the development of the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney).
The IAB brings together leaders in business events and related fields from North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific to guide and consult BESydney on issues and opportunities.
Chief executive officer of BESydney, Lyn Lewis-Smith, comments: "We are delighted to welcome nine of the 17 members of the IAB to this inaugural forum to our vibrant city. They will see first-hand how city-wide collaboration is keeping Sydney future-focused for business events."
The IAB will meet approximately every six months in Europe, North America or Sydney, and will be facilitated by leading international meetings consultant and former president of the Vancouver Convention Centre, Barbara Maple.
