C&IT Awards enjoys record Twitter response

The C&IT Awards enjoyed a record Twitter response last Friday (27 September), with the volume of social media chatter between event professionals and C&IT the highest the magazine has ever experienced.

C&IT recorded more than 500 tweets in total using the hashtag #CITAwards, making the gala evening the most 'interactive' event the brand has ever run.

More than 400 tweets were recorded during the day and evening of the Awards (27 September), with a total of more than 500 tweets when taking into account pre- and post-event interaction.

Event agencies, brands, DMCs, tourist boards and special guests all participated on Twitter during the build-up, the Awards themselves and over the weekend. C&IT has picked out some examples below. For all the interaction from the event, search #CITAwards on Twitter.
