Acheson, founder and owner of VIP Events, is a previous president of the ISES Dallas Chapter and has been a member of the international board of governors for the past 11 years. 

The inauguration took place at the association’s AGM, during ISES Live in Nassau, The Bahamas, and was attended by more than 400 ISES members from around the world.

Acheson said: "I take on the role at a very exciting time in our association's history, having just launched the inaugural ISES Live, the roll out of our new brand strategy and brand story and the development of a number of new chapters around the World. 

"ISES remains the natural home for those within the creative events profession across the globe, and I look forward to continuing to work with other organisations in the sector to promote the value of this incredible and valuable industry." 

Also announced at ISES Live, was the destination for ISES Live 2014, which will be held in Seattle, Washington.
