Indesit returns to big incentives

Indesit will return to major incentive trips in 2014 following a 35% uplift in sales this year from smaller incentive events.

Indesit is currently looking to take 150 store owners and their partners to Jamaica in 2014 for an incentive trip. An exclusive chateau in Bordeaux or a vineyard in Tuscany will be used for Homebase employees and another is being planned for Curry's employees for February 2014.

Jayson Weston, events manager at Indesit, said: "When the recession hit, everyone stopped running incentives. We've started running trips again and they have been gratefully received. The uptake in sales volume has been astounding – an increase of 35%.

"This year Indesit combined a product launch, conference and incentive trip in Portugal, which allowed us to take advantage of economies of scale, but in 2014, we will return to big incentive trips because it engages people and gets results. Giving vouchers does not have the same effect as a 'money-can't-buy' incentive experience."

In February, Indesit took 12 employees to Lulea, part of Swedish Lapland.
