The 200-room hotel has a 4,500m2 concert and congress hall, plus six additional meeting spaces.

The hotel pays homage to the golden age of Polish cinema with its towering glass façade that depicts a scene from one of the many Polish films produced from Lodz’s famous ‘Dream Factory’ studios.

The hotel's swimming pool forms a visual tribute to the works of Oscar winning director Roman Polanski, and guest rooms feature film motifs.

The newly-built hotel has views overlooking Poniatowski Park and guests are within easy reach of the city’s main leisure and commercial attractions as well as the central business district. The W Reymont International Airport 6km away.

The hotel includes an indoor swimming pool and spa with four treatment rooms and a 200-seat restaurant serving cuisine with Polish influences.

Simon Vincent, president of EMEA for Hilton Worldwide, said: "Hilton Worldwide has a long history of association with the film industry and Doubletree by Hilton Lodz builds on this heritage in an important European market.

"Over the last six years, we have expanded our Polish portfolio with openings in some of the country’s most visited cities including Gdansk, Krakow and Warsaw."

John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton, said: "We are excited to be welcoming our first guests in Poland. We cherish the opportunity to offer our guests unique hotel characteristics and immerse them in local culture. We’re excited to be part of the future of Lodz ‘Dream Factory’ and to be warmly welcoming guests for a memorable experience at our new DoubleTree by Hilton Lodz."

Slawomir Nowak, General Manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Lodz, said: "We are very pleased to be the first DoubleTree by Hilton in Poland. There is no doubt that beautiful interiors of the hotel together with our exceptional customer service will create an outstanding new upscale offering for the Polish market. We hope that through our presence we will also contribute to Lodz’s development, especially in the Meetings and Events area. I would like to congratulate our owner - TOYA Group - for creating this unique venue."

Hilton Worldwide has had a presence in Poland since 2007 with the opening of Hilton Warsaw Hotel & Convention Center and this latest opening increases the portfolio to six.

Its development pipeline of 11 hotels in the country includes the recently announced DoubleTree by Hilton Kraków Hotel & Convention Centre and Hampton by Hilton Kraków, set to become Poland’s first Hilton Worldwide dual branded property.
