The 'Blackburn Wing' will offer seating for up to 80 people theatre-style in its largest space and 140 people for drinks receptions when it opens in the summer of 2014.

The construction will appear to be floating in the treeline and follows the recent refurbishment of the estate's Bowcliffe Hall, which is a Georgian house with two meeting rooms offering period features and views across landscaped gardens.

The estate can also accommodate 1,000 guests in a marquee. On site catering will be provided by the art-deco themed Drivers Club.

Lucinda Jennings, director of property for the Bayford Group, which owns the estate, said: "The Blackburn Wing is such an exciting component to this project. We will be providing a  venue that is steeped in a history of innovation, which we hope will encourage delegates to view things differently and inspire creativity."
