The project, which is expected to be completed at the end of next month, will include work on eight of the hotel’s meeting and event rooms, which will be completely redesigned and refurbished, with new technology including HD presentation equipment.

Guests can also use free wifi, available in all guestrooms and public areas, as well as specially scented marker pens that will be provided to help 'stimulate' delegates.

The hotel’s Boardroom and The Nelson Room will be among the refurbishment's highlights, the latter featuring a nautical theme and images of Lord Nelson adorning the walls.

Glenn Hallam, general manager of the Charing Cross Hotel, said: "The renovation is the latest stage in the ongoing investment of the hotel which included the addition of the executive Buckingham Wing in 2011.

"We have worked very closely with the designers to create a different style for each of the eight meeting spaces to reflect the history and heritage of the property. We are also redesigning our food and beverage offering at the moment and we look forward to introducing this to our clients very soon."

The hotel has also teamed up with a new AV provider Eclipse Presentations tol offer technological solutions for all corporate meetings and private events held at the property.

The Charing Cross Hotel is located on the Strand next to Charing Cross station.
