Kelly left CI Events last month after one year as director of sales and marketing. Prior to this, he spent two years as global sales director for Melia Hotels International following four years as head of marketing at Zibrant.

Ram Organisation, a boutique consultancy for destinations and suppliers in the MICE market, was set up by Judy Till in 1998.

Kelly said: "Judy and I first started chatting six months ago about the possibility of me coming in on the business and where we thought we could take it.

"It soon became clear that there was a significant amount of synergy in our visions, so it made perfect sense. Naturally I spoke to many friends in the industry about their thoughts and they universally agreed it was a great idea.

"RAM has a fantastic reputation and range of clients, which we will be looking to build upon by making the most use of my sales and marketing experience working for agencies and venue experience."

"I have seen some great representation companies that I admire, but also some poor ones, so what I want to do is ensure that everything we do is delivered with a high level of passion, value and professionalism, giving tangible ROI to our clients."

Till added: "Ram has already repositioned itself with a new website and marketing approach, picking up momentum and expansion over the past 12 months. It was an ideal time to add to this success and to have John on board with all his relevant experience is very positive news.

"While the ethos of the business will remain, there will be many new ideas too. We will stay true to selecting the right suppliers to be in our portfolio, ensuring we have the most exciting and relevant choice for UK buyers.

"We believe RAM now has the strongest team at the helm and look forward expanding further so will be actively seeking opportunities from suppliers who share our vision and want to be part of this exciting expansion."
