The initiative is part of an HR Strategy, to "recognise and reward achievement at the earliest possible opportunity".
The University of Reading appointed AYMTM to design and implement an on-line reward and recognition portal to provide an immediate, flexible and tangible recognition for staff.
Managers are able to nominate members of staff for awards, which can be redeemed for vouchers from a wide range of retailers, allowing staff to select their reward.
Nominations are aligned to the University’s Values for Working Together and Professional Behaviours.
Awards can be made at any time throughout the year, subject to approval and budget availability, and managers can track their budget and the status of nominations. The majority of staff will redeem their awards on-line, but an alternative paper-based process has been made available to ensure the scheme is inclusive.
The portal has been designed to be easy to use and to reduce HR administration. It also provides access to real-time reporting.
The Celebrating Success Scheme forms part of a suite of arrangements for encouraging, recognising and rewarding staff for exceptional performance and for their contribution to the achievement of the University’s aims.
