Australia: new developments

New properties and refurbished venues for the C&I sector.

The Star: Sydney's premier event and entertainment destination, officially launched the final piece of its $870 million development, the $100 million Event Centre, in May. The venue has capacity for 4,000 people, in a 1,077 metre square column-free space housing the latest production and technology facilities. 

Traders Hotel, Brisbane: The property opened in August last year and offers 191 rooms, with seven meeting spaces that can be transformed into a ballroom for up to 500.

Adelaide Convention Centre: The venue launched new riverfront function spaces, also in August and is due to open an additional 4,300 sqm of multi purpose convention floor space in 2014.

SkyCity Darwin: The venue unveiled its AUS $40m redevelopment at Mindil Beach last summer. Located moments from Darwin’s central business district, SkyCity caters for groups of 20 to 10,000 guests.The new resort includes 32 luxury guestrooms. The Lawns outdoor space can cater for up a 5,000 guest gala dinner or a 10,000 pax standing function, and the Grand Ballroom holds up to 500 guests.
