Simon Vincent, president, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide, said: "Hilton Worldwide has enjoyed a presence in Romania since 1997, when we opened our first hotel in Bucharest. Since then and against a backdrop of growing tourism arrivals to the country, we are delighted to have grown our portfolio to five hotels across the country.
"This latest opening introduces our value-led brand to the region, providing an attractive base for those venturing into Transylvania, well known for its medieval castles, mythical legends and incredible scenery."
Hilton Worldwide now operates five hotels in Romania, with Hampton by Hilton becoming its third brand to have a presence in the country. Last autumn saw the opening of Doubletree by Hilton Oradea, bringing internationally branded accommodation to the city for the first time.
