Starwood to open luxury hotel in Greece

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide will re-open the King George Hotel in Athens as part of its luxury portfolio, with space for evening events.

The hotel will re-open on 1 June and will be The Luxury Collection's eighth hotel in Greece. 

The property has 78 rooms and 24 suites with views of the city and the Acropolis or overlooking a courtyard. It also has events space for small events and functions. 

The hotel features a majestic neoclassical façade and occupies a prime location in the historic Syntagma Square, the centre of Athens’ golden quarter. It is is situated between the Parliament and the fashionable Voukourestiou Street, within walking distance from the Acropolis, the Old City of Plaka and other notable sights in Athens. 

The Royal Penthouse Suite spans the ninth floor and has two bedrooms, a private terrace, swimming pool and open-air Jacuzzi. The Tudor Hall, the hotel’s signature restaurant on the seventh floor, offers panoramic views of Athens. 

King George also has a bar, indoor pool, fitness centre and business centre.
