The A List 2013: Justine Kia, CI Events

Justine Kia, 29, is event director at CI Events

Justine worked at CI Events in Australia before relocating to the UK and joining the London office in 2010.

Boss says: "Justine has worked with Hays for a few years and has helped to grow the account and cement CI Events as a preferred partner for Hays Recruitment. Her knowledge of the Australian market aided her in delivering a hugely successful global event with consistently good feedback," says James Hampton, business manager at CI Events.

Career high: Organising a summer party and awards for 1,400 people for Flight Centre - everything came together. The feedback was incredible.

Worst event moment: I organised a gala dinner for 200 for a pharma company in Beijing - 24 hours before, the government closed down parts of the city to rehearse a parade, meaning it would have taken six hours to get to the venue. I had 24 hours to find a new one.

I wish I'd run: Coachella Music Festival.

Alternative career: I've only ever wanted to do events.

Next step: We've recently opened a New York office. I'd love to work there.
