The A List 2013: Dave Glass, Smyle

Dave Glass, 32, is head of video at Smyle

Dave moved into video production following a course in professional broadcasting and was approached by Smyle to set up its video department in 2006, having previously freelanced at the agency.

Boss says: "Dave has led the fastest-growing area (video production) within Smyle, which has increasingly been at the forefront of discussions for our clients' event projects, as well as developing standalone video relationships with some of the biggest brands in the PR and media industries. He has achieved amazing results in a competitive environment," says Rick Stainton, managing director at Smyle.

Career high: Travelling. I have been lucky enough to work on events across most of Europe, San Francisco, Dubai and Barbados.

Worst event moment: Missing a flight to Barcelona by 30 seconds, driving quickly to another airport, only to realise when we returned that our cars were at the wrong airport.

I wish I'd run: The X-Games or an extreme sports event - they give you the opportunity to try out specialist camera kits.
Alternative career: Running a little bar on a remote beach in Thailand sounds appealing.

Next step: To expand the department to include a London office and editing suites and to open one overseas.
