The club has merged the events and sales staff to form a seven-person team to deliver a more joined-up and personalised service. Carlo Zoccali has been appointed as new business development manager for meetings, incentives, conference and events. Zoccali joins from Stoke Park Country Club.

Departures include Dina Toori, Arsenal's meetings and events sales manager who left last month after nearly four years, and Paul Martins, the club's meetings and events sales manager. Toori is currently providing consultancy work on a freelance basis while exploring other opportunities. Paul Martins has joined Lingfield Park as commercial manager.

A club spokesperson said: ‘There has been a small re-organisation of the meeting and events team designed to improve the quality of service we can provide to customers booking events at Emirates Stadium.

"This resulted in a re-assessment of roles and requirements and ultimately a recruitment of additional staff. It also resulted in the departure of a couple of members of the team due to the changes in the roles within the department.

"We’re delighted Carlo has joined the team from Stoke Park, where he headed up the meeting and events team. He will be the main contact for event planners."

This follows recent news – broken by C&IT – that AXA PPP Healthcare and Betfair have axed their events teams.
