The event will act as a springboard for what is being billed as "Britain’s biggest, most ambitious business event in 2014" – the International Festival for Business, the subject of a Masterplan feature in C&IT.
Accelerate 2013 will occur on 27 June, when 1,000 delegates will descend on ACC Liverpool. Among the 250 businesses attending, the event's speaker line-up includes Cobra Beer chairman Lord Karan Bilimoria; Ajaz Ahmed, founder of digital marketing agency AKQA; Paul Lindley, founder of children’s food firm Ella’s Kitchen; and Charles Morgan, managing director of iconic British car manufacturer Morgan Motor Company.
The International Festival for Business will take place throughout June and July 2014 and has been devised to attract international business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and policy makers. Organisers are set to announce more details on 13 May.
Speaking to C&IT in January, International Festival for Business managing director James Gower said: "It will be an Edinburgh Festival but for business and presents a huge opportunity for the events and meetings industry.
"We’re looking to attract conferences, meetings and receptions of all sizes and from all over the world that would benefit from dedicated support by the Liverpool & City Region."
