UEFA appoints Pitch for Champions League Festival

UEFA has appointed communications and events agency Pitch for the Champions League Festival 2013, taking place in May near the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The free four-day football celebration, featuring a series of family-friendly activities, will take place at the International Quarter overlooking the Olympic Park from 23-26 May.

Festival attendees will also have the chance to visit the UEFA Champions League museum, take part in a variety of skills clinics and coaching courses put on by professional coaches and meet international football stars. The event is part of celebrations for the UEFA Champions League final, which takes place at Wembley Stadium on 25 May.

UEFA's annual conference will also take place during the festival for the first time to celebrate 150 years of the FA.

The one-day Ordinary UEFA Congress for 53 national football association members will take place on 23 May 2013 at the Grosvenor House hotel in London, and is expected to attract 400 delegates.
Panos Tzivanidis, head of travel and conferences unit at UEFA, said: "UEFA's annual congress usually takes place in March, but this year we decided to amalgamate a series of events in one week in London to celebrate the FA's 150th anniversary."
