Some 40 Google staff, members of the press and clients will attend the event, which will include demonstrations of the new software.
UK Googlers and community members kicked off today’s launch with a 'MapUp' workshop at Bletchley Park, which has been mapped using the software.
Google Map Maker is an online tool that allows people to contribute and edit map data for certain regions from around the world.
Users can locate, draw, label and provide attributes for local map features, in effect, becoming "citizen cartographers."
The product allows users to precisely map places like their local neighbourhoods, footpaths and forests, parks and golf courses, where maps have traditionally been less comprehensive.
