Centara to open resort hotel with conference facilities in Thailand

Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak will open this summer following a refurbishment with meeting space for 200 delegates.

The resort's largest function room can hold 400 guests for a cocktail reception or theatre style. The conference room can host up to 200 people and is divisible into three sections.

The resort is a one-hour drive from Phuket International Airport and less than a two-hour drive from Krabi International Airport. The property originally opened in November 2008 and has a total of 218 rooms. Dining facilities include an all-day restaurant serving Thai and international foods, as well as a spa.

Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts, said: "The resort is located at Nang Thong Beach, which is fast becoming the prime resort centre of Khao Lak, and it has an extensive area of beachfront. This is our first property in Khao Lak, a destination that we see as very strategic for our further growth in Southern Thailand.

"We currently have seven properties in Phuket and two in Krabi, and further expansion will be announced in the near future for both the Andaman coast and the Gulf of Thailand."

Centara Hotels & Resorts opened its fourth property in Pattaya in March.
