Red Bull has briefed Thurty 3 to handle a major event this spring, following news in C&IT this March that the start-up agency had the energy drink brand onboard.

The agency, launched in March by ex-TBT board director Jason Lancaster, has also won a contract with sport brand Jobe on the back of his relationship with Red Bull.

The Red Bull event will include a hospitality provision for the drinks company's staff and clients, as well as consumer interaction.

Events on Red Bull's calendar include the Red Bull Hill Chasers Scotland uphill bike race, which took place on 30 March in Edinburgh, while this month will see the Red Bull X-Fighters take place in Dubai.

The Jobe work will take place this month on 11 events over 13 days throughout Europe and the UK.

Since opening for business, the agency has also gained clients including Monster, Alpine Stars and O'Neill.

"At Thurty 3, we're about joined-up thinking, connecting target audiences with our client partners," Lancaster said. "What's been interesting is that a number of our clients are keen to add a b2b element to their consumer events, and we've seen a merging taking place."

He added that initially his company is focusing on getting customer service right, adding that business has taken off quicker than expected. Thurty 3 is operating with a team of five, which has experience in sporting events.

Red Bull has previously worked with agencies including D3 and Innovision.

Lancaster's previous roles included director of business development EMEA at BCD M&I.
