London & Partners yesterday showcased the Olympic Park venues to corporate planners, event agencies and international press, as part of the Confex exhibition, which runs from 19-21 March.
The highlight of the event was a trip up the Anish Kapoor-designed Arcelormittal Orbit, at 114.5m Britain's tallest sculpture boasting views of the Olympic Park and across London. The Orbit features two viewing platforms on separate levels capable of hosting a total of 300 guests. Although officially opening to the public in spring 2014 – alongside a number of other event spaces, including a new events pavilion – it was suggested private hire would be possible beforehand.
