Sledge has posted a 9.3% increase in turnover for 2012 due to business related to the Olympic Games but says 2013 will be bigger still.

The agency's turnover leapt to £4.7m for 2012, from £4.3m the previous year. Meanwhile, gross profit increased by 16% to £1.4m, from £1.2m in 2011.

Sledge's managing director Laura Capell said that the boost was due to the Olympic Games, but she predicted that the company would reach a turnover of £6m in 2013, representing a 27% increase on 2012.

"It's obviously a tough year post-Olympics but it is still a good one for us with investments in building a larger team and we're working with some great clients," she added.

Capell also name-checked the UKTI as a client that has helped boost its performance.

Earlier this year, Sledge appointed a strategy director. The agency has accounts including O2, the team for which increased last year.
