Shard builders Mace Group to project manage $1.2bn Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia

An EC Harris/Mace joint venture team will develop the world's tallest building near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

When completed, the Kingdom tower near Jeddah, will potentially reach a height of 1,200m, four times the height of the Shard.

The $1.2bn (£780m) Kingdom Tower development will cover a total construction area of more than 500,000 sqm, and feature a five-star luxury Four Seasons hotel, and an observatory.

The development will also contain Four Seasons serviced apartments, office space, and luxury condominiums.

Construction work is due to start on site later this year and is due for completion within 63 months.

Kingdom Tower will be the centre piece of Jeddah Economic Company’s US$20bn (£13bn) Kingdom City development which will be located to the north of Jeddah, overlooking the Red Sea. 

The Kingdom City will consist of more than 5.3m sqm of urban development, including residential, commercial, hotel, offices, retail, educational and commercial centres as well as inland water features.
