The two associations are currently working through final business plans, but Eventia chairman Simon Hughes and IVCA chief executive Marco Forgione are set to meet next week ahead of the board meetings.

Hughes told C&IT that the aim of the 14 February board meetings is to finalise motions for a member vote, as well as set a date for the vote.

"I am hopeful at the board meetings we can set a date for the vote and sign off the document that will go out for the vote," said Hughes.

He added that a live vote will take place along with a postal vote.

"We have been slightly slowed down by the weather last week, as we couldn’t get anyone into our office in Birmingham because of the snow," explained Hughes.
