Plans for the hotel, which has been designed by Wakefield architectural firm DLA Design, is being put in front of the planning committee of Barnsley Council.
Plans are to set the 120-bedroom hotel in 500 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland. It will feature meeting and event space, spa facilities and restaurants and bars.
Plans are to locate the hotel within the existing Georgian mansion house of Bretton Hall and build a contemporary bedroom wing. It will located next to Yorkshire Sculpture Park, which took over the management of the estate grounds from owner Wakefield Council.
The developer behind the project is Rushbond.
