Confex unveils 2013 'Association Day' programme

International Confex has released the 2013 Association Day conference programme for UK and international associations, taking place on Wednesday 20 March at Excel London.

The day will include an opening keynote, ‘Meet the Expert’ roundtable workshops, networking opportunities and a drinks reception hosted by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).

Cedric Calhoun, executive director of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals and founder of RecertTrack, will deliver the opening keynote address on the value and importance of certification.

Delegates can choose to attend two 40-minute workshops out of a choice of ten on topics such as the UK Pharma Code, sustainable event solutions, subvention, PCO relations, gaining management buy-in, commercial advice and managing content.

Speakers include Martin Sirk, CEO of ICCA; Michael Foreman, former PCO and ABPCO chair; Norman Rose, Junior Vice-President of the Institute of Association Management; Erin Rigg, Client Services Manager of The Listening Company.

A panel session on sourcing destinations for association events will feature association heads and destination representatives discussing a range of issues from subvention and city support to hotel negotiations and bidding procedures.

More than 90 delegates are expected to attend the day and more than 900 exhibitors from the events industry are expected at International Confex, which runs from 19 to 21 March at London Excel.
