The Concerto board was unanimous in its decision to appoint the 48-year old who takes over from interim CEO Andrew Duncan, chief executive and founder of Newmarket Partners.

Duncan has been working with Concerto for the last 12 months following the board’s decision to invest in new leadership.

Dunleavy and Duncan will work together on an interim handover until Dunleavy joins full time in March. The news comes after Concerto posted a 17% sales growth.

Dunleavy joins Concerto following five years with PR Group Bell Pottinger, where she held the position of CEO of full service agency Good Relations.

During this period she was responsible for leading pitches for global brands such as BlackBerry, Nintendo, Airbus, Weetabix, Subway and Nokia.

Concerto Chairman Mike Kershaw said: "This is an exciting time for Concerto. When we started this process we were committed to bringing in the best talent we could find to drive the business forward. That search took us beyond Concerto and the industry overall. We are thrilled to have TA joining us. She brings a wealth of experience in driving business growth through change plus an energy and drive that will complement our existing teams."

Dunleavy said: "I’m delighted to be joining Concerto. There are great foundations to build from and I’ve been impressed by the energy, creativity and commitment to excellence right across the Group. Harnessing that spirit will be key to our success."
