Gjonnes, who was previously director of operations at Battersea Power Station, said that he is keen to ensure that events play a key role at the site's current spaces, which include the Boiler House – which has been hired by corporates including EE and Nokia.
"At every stage we are looking for new channels for cultural activity and events at the site. Our beautiful park which is set to open in April, would be a great draw for corporates. Meanwhile, our current event venues the Boiler House and The Farmiloe Building (pictured) have become established venues for the event market. I'm hoping to build on this success and also highlight the other event venues we own, including the House of Detention," said Gjonnes.
Gjonnes co-founded the venue management business in 2008. He has worked on events including Formula 1 and the Cannes film festival and will now manage the implementation of the board’s growth strategy.
Graham Beswick, chairman of Industri Management, said: "Tarek’s promotion is a key appointment as part of the growth plans of Industri Management. Tarek’s experience and knowledge that has been a big part of the success of the company to date and crystallising his experience will further strengthen the business and the service we provide to clients."
The Boiler House's Christmas events were handled by Best Parties Ever.
