C&IT's pick of the corporate events of 2012

The London 2012 Olympic Games may have taken centre stage, but a host of other corporate events pushed the boundaries this year.

Boehringer Ingelheim's Pradaxa launch wins Grand Prix at C&IT Excellence Awards 2012

Boehringer Ingelheim partnered with Zibrant to launch the new blood-thinning drug Pradaxa to the UK market last year, with the strong event identity 'Our Time is Now...To Change the World'.

The launch was recognised at C&IT's Excellence Awards on 27 September 2012, at the Natural History Museum, scooping the Grand Prix as well as awards in the Product Launch and Medical & Pharmaceutical categories.

Siemens' global diversity tour

In 2012, to bring the increasingly important subject of inclusivity and regional variation to life, Siemens set about planning a project that would make use of video and social media to better inform staff globally about the benefits of a diverse workforce.

In a dramatic shift away from the usual format for promoting diversity, Siemens decided to run events at nine of its offices worldwide, engaging more than 1,000 staff in total from 10-27 April.

Mercedes-Benz's UK Actros launch

DBMT was appointed for the 23 April launch of the new Actros truck, which had been 11 years in development.

The entire event was underpinned by a futuristic theme and DBMT used projection mapping to bring the event to life - a production technique which had never been used on a truck before.

BP Technology Experience

Held at the Royal Opera House in July and August, the BP Technology Experience welcomed more than 2,200 corproate attendees, including heads of state and global business leaders.

The aim was to redesign the corporate experience, with the final result compared to a "BBC Science programme meets Universal Studios".
