Tapping into the long term benefits of incentive travel throughout an organisation, rather than just among the winners, was among topics discussed by delegates at the meeting held at the Institute of Directors yesterday (13 December).

Around 60 attendees included representatives from internal communications and HR teams, who joined at the event to share best practice on engaging employees.

Grass Roots head of employee engagement Francis Goss said: "Employee engagement is a business imperative, and communication including live events is a key part."

Speakers at the event included BT head of employee engagement Sharon Darwent and co-chairs of the Engage for Success task force David MacLeod and Nita Clarke.

The Engage for Success task force was launched last year by Prime Minister David Cameron, with a report Employee Engagement – The Evidence published on 12 November.

Grass Roots' Goss said he expected another event in summer 2013.
