Boost for Perth conferencing and business events

Perth and Western Australia's conferencing and business events industry is in top shape, according to industry statistics revealed at Perth Convention Bureau's (PCB) Annual General Meeting held at Crown Perth at the end of November.

PCB passed AUS $100 million in direct delegate expenditure for the first time and also celebrated its 40th anniversary as a not-for-profit organisation since being established in 1972.

Chairman of PCB, Ian Laurance, congratulated Tourism Minister, Kim Hames and the State Government on their support for the business events industry and their commitment to a new four-year funding deal for the Bureau on the back of its success.

"This move gives us certainty and stability for the next four years and will underwrite our continuing success in bringing business events and conventions to the State," said Laurance.
